In the first phase, the city will raze the garage and build an intercity bus terminal, public parking with roughly 500 stalls, and “gray box” spaces for final build out by Mortensen, which will then do the private element above the public piece and will feature 220 units of student housing, including 100 beds at reduced cost to UW-Madison students eligible for financial aid.
