Wisconsin 2024 election: UW-River Falls student, "staunch conservative", and Trump-lovin' Brady Penfield announces his candidacy for the 28th Assembly District

Penfield is the fourth Republicans to announce for the 28th Assembly District

The district is currently represented by ultra-conservative  Gae Magnafici (R-Dresser), who was first elected to the Assembly in November 2018.  She is not running for  re-election.

According to WisPolitics, the 3rd district is 66.3% Republican.  Which explains why no Democrat has yet to announce.

The 28th district consists largely of St. Croix County, western Dunn County and northeastern Pierce County. Penfield will run against Rob Kreibich, the New Richmond Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. The two candidates will be seen in the Aug. 13 primary election, which will also include Wisconsin Senate, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives and President.
Penfield is a junior, studying Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Biology at River Falls. Penfield currently serves on the executive board of the Wisconsin Federation of College Republicans (WICRs) and created the River Falls chapter this past fall. He is also a member of the university’s student government and a voting member for the Pierce County Republican Party.
“I am a staunch conservative and I understand the current status of the Republican party and what conservatives want. I am a firm supporter of Donald Trump because that is what conservatives want. I will stand, unwaveringly, on conservative social issues, specifically that I am pro-family, pro-life, and pro Christian virtues,” he said.
