100 Years of Frank Sinatra: "Always"

Frank Sinatra recorded "Always" for Columbia Records in Hollywood in January 1947, working with arranger Axel Stordahl as he did throughout the early stage of his singing career.   According to Popular Song, it ranks as #15 among the top 40 popular songs of 1947.

"Always" was written by Irving Berlin for his second wife, Ellin Mackey, in 1925.   One of the most recent versions of this popular standard was recorded 3 years ago by Paul McCartney.

Auburn, Washington, wasn't "always", but Mom and Dad ended up celebrating 53 wedding anniversaries.  Dad died in 1999 "after a long illness", i.e,, from the effects of Parkinson's Disease.

You'd think Mom's shoes would show up somewhere on this Pinterest page.
