Wisconsin 2024 elections: Democrat Sarah Harrison announces candidacy for 15th Assembly District

This is Sarah Harrison first campaign for a seat in the State Assembly.

The 15th Assembly District is currently represented by Dave Maxey (R-New Berlin) who was first elected in November 2022.  As a result of redistricting, he is running for re-election in the 83rd District.

The new 15th is 62.3% Republican, according to WisPolitcs.

"I am running for Assembly to restore our reproductive freedom, seek affordable child care options for working parents, and invest in our local communities," Harrison said in her announcement release. "As a small business owner and mother of two, I feel the challenges we face in Assembly District 15." Harrison is the founder and principal consultant at Order of Operations, a logistics startup. She previously held roles in distribution operations, transportation and supply chain management. Her nonprofit work includes tutoring low-income students, and advocating for public schools, reproductive health care, hunger mitigation, cleaning up the environment, gun violence prevention, and LGBTQ+ equality. She and her children have lived in Waukesha County for 18 years.
State Rep. Adam Neylon, R-Pewaukee, also announced his campaign for Assembly District 15 in mid-April. He currently represents Assembly District 98, but was redrawn into Assembly District 15 in the redrawn legislative maps.
