GET ME REWRITE: After twiddling their thumbs for 7 months, Winnebago County supervisors realize they have a crisis on their hands

From March 14 until August 31, Winnebago County reported a total of 1,528 coronavirus cases, an average of 9 new cases per day.


Since September 1, the county has reported an additional 5,486 cases, an increase of 260%.  Daily average during this period is 119 new cases per day.
