A torrent of floodwater tore through this channel from Monday night through midday Wednesday.

The paved trail is mostly sand-covered now but appears to be in fairly good shape though who knows what damage it might be hiding. The first of 5 wooden bridges that span the creek is located just past the point where the trail curves to the right. I suspect it, like the other 4, became unmoored during Monday night's deluge. The trail, of course, is closed to the public, and yesterday Friends of the Pheasant Branch Conservancy stood sentry to make sure no one wandered in.

Century Avenue between Branch Street and Donna Drive was closed from Thursday evening until Saturday afternoon due to a sinkhole.
