Inventor Lai Wei-shin, a family physician, struggled with getting back to sleep after phone calls from patients in the middle of the night. She tried to relax by listening to meditative music, but headphones were bulky, and ear buds uncomfortable. So she invented SleepPhones , which look like a headband with music, designed to help the wearer drift off while their bedmate remains oblivious.
