McHenry County, Illinois: Keep an eye out on this suburban Chicago area on Election Day

 
In 1984, Ronald Reagan won McHenry County by 53 percentage points.

In 2020, Donald Trump won the county by just 2.2 percentage points.

Will the county flip from Red to Blue in 2024?  It's very possible.

Trump received 10,648 more votes than he did in 2016, a 15% increase.   Biden received 17,457 more votes than Clinton did in 2016, an increase of 29%.

Trump's share of the vote increased by 0.1 percentage points. Biden increased Clinton's share of the vote by 5.3 percentage points.

The population of McHenry County has increased 70% since 1980, although the pace of growth has slowed considerably since 2000.
