Allen was a very consistent performer throughout most of the 20th century.  He spent 63 years in the top 100 (1901-1911, 1913, 1915, 1917-18, 1920-1968, peaking at #71 in 1940, 1942, 1949, and 1950.  Looks as though he'll soon make his first visit to the lower half of the baby names chart.
