Not a rejection? Let me help you out here, Scott Walker

Quoted in Scott Walker on election loss: 'In no way did I see it as a rejection;' may change 2020 presidential primary date.  (Wisconsin State Journal, 11/16/2018)

Most of that 'larger electorate' -- nearly 86% -- chose to vote for your Democratic challenger, Tony Evers.

Including Waukesha County, where you received 580 fewer votes than in 2014, and Tony Evers received 17,614 (or 32%) more votes than Mary Burke did in 2014.

At least they like you better than they do Trump in Waukesha County.

"What does Wisconsin's blue wave look like?  (part 2)" starts here.

In 2018, Governor Scott Walker received fewer votes than he did in 2014 in 6 counties:  Dane, Dodge, Jefferson, Milwaukee, Pepin, and Waukesha.  Yes, Waukesha.

In 2018, Tony Evers received fewer votes than Mary Burke did in 2014 in just 1 county:  Price.  (Which, by the way, has lost 15% of its population since 2000.)

Of particular interest is what happened on the Democratic side of the ticket in deep-red Waukesha County.   In 2014, Mary Burke received 54,500 votes.  In 2018, Tony Evers received 72,114 votes, an increase of 17,614 -- or 32%.  I'd call that a blue wave.

Overall, Scott Walker received 34,083 more votes in 2018 than he did in 2014, an increase of 2.7%.  On the other hand, Tony Evers received 201,735 more votes in 2018 than Mary Burke did in 2014, an increase of 18%.

How the percentage of votes gained or lost changed in the last 3 Wisconsin gubernatorial elections.

Part 1 starts here

Based on preliminary results, 16 Wisconsin counties cracked The Case of the Quadrennial Democrats, i.e., the number of votes for Tony Evers in 2018 exceeded the number of votes for Hillary Clinton in 2016.

(The Wisconsin Election Commission will publish official fall 2018 election results on Monday, December 3.)

A corresponding red wave?  Let's call it the Ozaukee Splash.

Middle column lists percentage increase/decrease in votes by Democrats (2018 Evers vs. 2016 Clinton).  Right column lists percentage decrease/increase in votes by Republicans (2018 Walker vs. 2016 Trump).
