Mr. Thin Skin prefers the diversity of Harrisburg.  April 29 is also the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington. Most presidents attend the event. Trump previously announced that he is boycotting this year's dinner to protest what he says is unfavorable coverage by the news media. His staff is also boycotting in a show of "solidarity" with the president.

I suspect that Walker is doing some serious posing on this one, cuz we've seen this routine before.

Reported in Gov. Walker dismisses penalizing school districts that raise money via referendum.  (WKOW, 4/20/2017)

In 2016, all but 1 of the school referendums took place on regularly scheduled election days, and 81.5% coincided with the spring and fall general elections.

Wow, this is a really big problem, folks!

Young White America Is Haunted by a Crisis of Despair.  (Bloomberg, 4/18/2017)
While blacks and Hispanics without college degrees are also falling behind economically and socially, middle-age mortality has worsened for whites in particular over the past 20 years—a fact some attribute partly to social context. “For whites, their reference group is previous generations of whites,” said Shannon Monnat, a Pennsylvania State University professor who studies the opioid epidemic in rural America. “When they look back on their parents and grandparents, it feels like their generation is doing worse.”

From the same article:
Such decline runs deep in Erie, where Johnson attended school and worked a string of part-time restaurant jobs. Nestled against the gray-green waters of one of America’s Great Lakes, the town has been declining since the 1970s. Its population dropped below 100,000 in 2014 for the first time since 1920.  (2016 U.S. Census estimate puts it back above 100,000.)

Get the lead out? WMC sez no!

Lucas uses the s-word.  “The approach taken in this legislation, however, is flawed,” WMC environmental policy director Lucas Vebber said. “This legislation would socialize the costs of lead service line replacements over all of the utility’s rate payers, driving up costs even on those who already paid, out of their own pocket, to replace their own lead service lines. “
