Wirecutter staff report:
After striking out last year with a robot vacuum armed with an actual arm, Roborock is trying again this year with a different body part: legs.
Amid a general (ahem) arms race among robot-vacuum manufacturers to make one machine that can work in any home — those with multiple floors, particularly — Roborock’s newest attempt promises increased mobility around the house, with its “leg-wheels” theoretically able to maneuver through the trickiest of home setups. Of special note is the bot’s purported ability to not only climb up and down staircases but also individually clean stairs, taking care of one of the most vexing home-vacuuming projects.
