Not surprisingly, Kurt had difficulty establishing himself during the decade of and following the first World War.  His growing popularity, however, was barely dented during World War II.  He ended up spending 23 years in the top 200 (1952-1974), peaking at #109 in 1964.   After 1990, he experienced a precipitous slide and fell off the chart in 2006.
