GET ME REWRITE: Adam Steen's shameless groveling earns him a Trump endorsement

HeadlineWisconsin Staet Journal, 8/3/2022
Trump also referred to Vos as a “RINO,” an acronym for “Republican in name only,” a derogatory term for party members deemed insufficiently loyal.
“Adam Steen, on the other hand, is a motivated Patriot, dedicated to making Wisconsin Great Again,” Trump added. “He has had the courage to stand up strongly against ‘Speaker’ Vos.”
Trump’s comments focus far more heavily on Vos than Steen in a statement largely based on the lie that the 2020 election was marred by “election-changing fraud.” He accused Vos of blocking efforts to secure Wisconsin’s elections, even though Vos has since 2020 steered through bills seeking to tighten election procedure, validate GOP voter suppression, which were vetoed by Democratic Gov. Tony Evers.

Vos has tried to paint Steen as extreme, not only for his assertion the 2020 election could be overturned, but also for holding positions that are resoundingly unpopular with voters.
Among Steen’s positions are:
  • That there should be no exceptions for Wisconsin’s abortion ban, even for the life of the mother or in cases of rape.
  • That the use of contraception is “playing God.”
  • Opposition to “red flag” gun laws. “I don’t think that’s the government’s right to decide” who should legally be able to carry a firearm, he said during a campaign event earlier this month.
One of Steen’s core supporters is Harry Wait, the Town of Dover man being investigated by the Department of Justice for requesting the absentee ballots of Vos and Racine Mayor Cory Mason to prove he could do it online without showing a voter ID. Wait requested the ballots last week and publicly admitted to committing a felony, but has not yet been criminally charged.

7/31/2022 update, "Adam Steen gets GOP voters all het up in Wisconsin 63rd Assembly District', starts here.

HeadlineRacine Journal Times, 7/31/2022
The Republican primary in Assembly District 63 is heated, engaging, important, confusing and downright strange.
A former president has gotten involved. So has a former green beret tied to spreading falsehoods that fueled the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot. There have been three “debates” with only one candidate in attendance. A Racine County activist being investigated for election fraud is deeply involved in the challenger’s campaign. And seemingly every home from Burlington to Union Grove has a sign in the front yard, supporting one candidate or the other.
This is all for a partisan primary, with two candidates from the same party whose political opinions seemingly overlap most of the time.

According to Merriam-Webster, the first known use of 'het up' occurred in 1909.

Original 7/28/2022 post, "Adam Steen think many GOP voters so stupid they'll think a nameless acknowledgement from "President Trump" is the same as an endorsement', starts here.

Adam hopes his clownish behavior will lead to a big upset over Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos in the 63rd Assembly District GOP primary.

By the way, Adam, he's now known as "Mr. Trump".  And he doesn't even know your name.

Less than one week ago, President Trump posted the following on Truth Social: “So what’s Speaker Robin Vos doing on the Great Wisconsin Supreme Court Ruling declaring hundreds of thousands of Drop Box votes to be illegal? This is not a time for him to hide, but a time to act! I don’t know his opponent in the upcoming Primary, but feel certain he will do well if Speaker Vos doesn’t move with gusto. Robin, don’t let the voters of Wisconsin down!” In response to President Trump’s post, Adam Steen has released the following statement.  [emphasis added]
