GET ME REWRITE. Meet Christopher Schmaling, election denier clown masquerading as Racine County Sheriff

Headline:  Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 8/2/2022
Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling's refusal to investigate and recommend charges last week against a resident who illegally requested multiple absentee ballots wasn't his first foray into eye-raising activity.
Schmaling, who has campaigned for former President Donald Trump, is part of the growing "constitutional sheriffs" movement and a member of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association.
The Constitutional Sheriffs was founded in 2011 by former Graham County, Arizona, Sheriff Richard Mack. The organization is similar to the Oath Keepers, which encourages members to refuse to enforce laws that they believe are unconstitutional.
Mack is a board member of the Oath Keepers.

The probe comes a day after Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling revealed he was aware of the plot but blamed state elections officials for the violations instead of arresting the offenders who had confessed to the crimes.
Schmaling thanked one of the offenders for committing voter fraud instead of arresting him for his part in the effort, the sheriff's office also acknowledged Friday.  [emphasis added]

Reported in Racine County deputies 'will not enforce' statewide mask mandate, sheriff says.  (Racine Journal Times, 7/30/2020)

At a time when the number of new confirmed cases in Racine County has spiked 32% in the past 16 days, the sheriff's confidence is misplaced, naive.

Racine County ranks 2nd, behind Milwaukee County, in having the highest COVID-19 positive test rate per 100,000 people.

In Schmaling's case, it's a litmus test.  He dare not cross His Vosness.

Looks as though this item should have been debated around the time the GOP lapdogs on the Wisconsin Supreme Court decided to play the role of superspreaders.

Mask ordinance passed by one vote, goes into effect July 27.  (Racine Journal Times, 7/22/2020)
After more than two hours of discussion, the ordinance passed 8-7. Aldermen Tate, Levie, Marcus West, Trevor Jung, Land, Taft, Meekma and Melissa Lemke voted in support of the ordinance. Aldermen Jeff Coe, Mollie Jones, Edwin Santiago, Jeffrey Peterson, Maurice Horton, Carrie Glenn and Henry Perez voted in opposition.

Racine County, of which the City of Racine comprises 40% of the population, ranks second among the state's 72 counties in Covid-19 positive test rate per 100,000 people.
