Population loss in rural Arkansas: Dallas County

Fordyce is the county seat of Dallas County.

Population loss by degrees:  80-89%70-79%, 60-69%, 50-59%.



Percentage of population 25 and older with a bachelor's degree:
  • 14.1% - Dallas County
  • 22.0% - Arkansas
  • 30.9% - U.S.
Percentage of population 65 and older:
  • 23.2% - Dallas County
  • 16.6% - Arkansas
  • 15.6% - U.S.

In 1972, Richard Nixon was the first Republican presidential candidate to win Dallas County.  In the previous presidential election, third-party candidate George Wallace won with 47% of the vote.  The GOP presidential candidate has won the county since 2004.
