Suspended clay.   More than just an unhappy thought for Packer fans.

Storm water discharging from EOG Resources' DS sand mine in Cooks Valley in Chippewa County turned a trout stream running through Colfax milky white for several days, according to observers.

Department of Natural Resources storm water expert Jim Devlin said he checked out the site Tuesday and found the east branch of Running Valley Creek in Chippewa County was cloudy with suspended clay below the mine, while the west fork was running clear. Where the two branches merged, the entire creek was cloudy.
