Decline in Equalized Property Value and Brown County Tax Levy
Link to October 10 Green Bay Press-Gazette editorial, "Board must do homework on proposal".
Excerpt: This year's total tax levy increase of 6.21 percent — an amount County Board Vice Chairwoman Mary Scray called "shocking" — would have been a more manageable 3.85 percent had the county not seen a 2.2 percent decline in equalized property value. If approved, homeowners would pay an additional $28 for every $100,000 of land value under the proposal.
