Montgomery County Pennsylvania voters will definitely give Kamala Harris a boost this November

Montgomery County went from a 28.9 percentage point GOP advantage in 1984 to a 26.2 percentage point Democratic advantage in 2020.  Quite the reversal.
3rd party votes:  17.7% in 1992, 10% in 1996, 4.5% in 2016
(Alabama segregationist George Wallace
received 6.4% of the vote in 1968)

Trump received 22,927 more votes than he did in 2016, a 14 % increase.  But his share of the votes decreased nearly 1 percentage point.

Biden received 63,429 more votes than Clinton did in 2016, an increase of 25%. Biden increased Clinton's share of the vote 4 percentage points.

Philly's suburbs of Montgomery, Bucks and Delaware Counties, in contrast to Philly Proper, were great for former Gov. Tom Ridge, Sen. Arlen Specter and other GOP moderates during the 1990s. But they have been trending more Democratic in recent years.
They most certainly have.  Since 2012, Democrats have boosted their margin of victory in Montgomery County 11.9 percentage points -- from 14.3 in 2012 to 26.2 in 2020.

And its residents, on average, have a much higher level of education.  Definitely not MAGA territory.

% of population 25 and older with bachelor's degree:
  • 51.4% - Montgomery County
  • 33.8% - Pennsylvania
  • 34.3% - U.S.
