Wisconsin 2024 elections: 3 Dane County members of State Assembly vie for 16th Senate District seat

Melissa Ratcliff received a majority of the votes.  She will run unopposed in the November general election as there is no Republican candidate running.

With no Republicans running in the Democratic-leaning district, Ratcliff will be unopposed in the November general election. Although less concentrated around Madison, the district — the borders of which were redrawn after the state Supreme Court in December ruled the previous maps unconstitutional — is still reliably Democratic.
The district opened up when former Senate Minority Leader Melissa Agard, D-Madison, chose to run for Dane County Executive — also on Tuesday's ballot.
