$200 million redevelopment plan proposed for Metro Transit South Transfer Point in Madison WI

The Alexander Co., based on the South Side, will partner with the city’s Community Development Authority to chart the future of the site, winning out over a unique collaboration between Centro Hispano, the Urban League of Greater Madison and Madison Area Technical College, which had been one of three finalists for the contract. 

Through the rest of 2024, the CDA and The Alexander Co. will put together early designs for the site as well as a plan for housing affordability for a project that could have up to 600 units. Next steps for the project include public engagement and applying for low-income housing tax credits in early 2025.
