U.S. Census Bureau's 2022 population projections: Iowa's 23rd smallest county (Clarke) has fewer residents than it did in 1880

 
Iowa has 99 counties.

79.5% white Clarke County's population has decreased 22% since its 12,440 peak of 1900.  

Clarke County has rebounded from its 1970 trough, but its 2022 estimate shows a slight drop of 56 residents.  Hispanics comprise 17.8% of the population

Clarke County voted Democratic in presidential election stretching from 1088 to 2008.  Since then voters hae gone all in for Trump's MAGA message.
