Representative Elise Stefanik of New York, the third-ranking House Republican, endorsed Mr. Trump for president on Friday ahead of his anticipated campaign announcement on Tuesday.
“President Trump has always put America First, and I look forward to supporting him so we can save America,” Ms. Stefanik said on Twitter.

Other lawmakers rushed to show support, attempting to again tap the well of grievance against the party establishment that has fueled Mr. Trump’s political career. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia said this week, in an interview on Mr. Bannon’s show, that Mr. Trump had been “politically persecuted worse than any human being in our country’s history.”
