Wisconsin 2022 elections: Who's running in the 6th Assembly District now that Gary Tauchen has announced his retirement


Tauchen will have served 7 terms (14 years) in the Assembly.

He says this would be a good time to run if anyone is considering it and thinks it could be a pretty contested election.
“I am expecting people to run on both sides when the seat becomes open.”

The 6th Assembly District includes most of Shawano County, where Tauchen lives.  In 2020, the county was Trumpier than it was in 2016, with Trump boosting his vote tally by 2,780 (21%) and his share by 3 percentage points (64.5% to 67.5%).
