Democratic districts in U.S. House targeted by GOP: Minnesota 8th

Solidly Democratic in the 2000s -- James Oberstar receiving anymore from 63.6% to 68.6% of the vote, the Minnesota 8th got rolled by the Tea Party wave in 2010, Republican Chip Cravaak squeaking by with a 1.6-point margin.  Democratic Rick Nolan defeated Cravaak by nearly 10 points in 2012 but has seen his margin of victory shrink considerably in his two re-elections.

Obama won this Canadian border-hugging district, represented by Rep. Rick Nolan, by 5.5 points in 2012 and 8.6 points in 2008. But in 2016, the vote shifted dramatically, and Trump won by 16 points, with 54 percent of the vote.
