As quoted in Scott Walker staying the course despite drop in poll position.  (Madison.com, 9/6/2015)

The company Scott Walker keeps:

  • Rick Perry won 16 polls in a row during the late summer and early fall of 2011, averaging 33%.  Two months later, his average poll rating fell to single digits.  By mid-January of 2012, it was adios, amigo.  He did not prevail.
  • Herman Cain became the flavor of the month (October 2011) after primary voters lost their taste for Perry.  He won 8 and tied 2 of 15 consecutive polls. By early December, he was  yesterday's news, putting up goose eggs.  He did not prevail.
  • Newt Gingrich averaged 35% in national polls during the month of December 2011.   After March 2012, he struggled to reach 20%.  He did not prevail.

Scott Walker's average poll rating peaked at 17.3 on April 1, 2015.  He has since fallen to 5.5%.  He will not prevail.
