Scotch Plains Residents Speak Up for Their Library


Scotch Plains residents fill meeting to voice objection of possible library cuts.  (Independent Press, 4/20/2013)

Excerpt: Concerned with possible cuts to funding for the public library, residents filled the Township Council meeting urging elected officials not to reduce the amount of money the library will get in the 2013 budget. 

The state this year is giving only about $1.28 million in what's called minimum funding [see document below] to the Scotch Plains Public Library, a reduction of $47,000 from 2012, Mayor Kevin Glover said in an interview.
