Excerpt: LeeAnn Briese, who has been interim director since the Library Board demoted previous director Mary Ellen Close, accepted the director’s job Monday, according to Patrick O’Connell, who led the board’s search committee.
O’Connell said Briese was chosen from among two finalists.
“She’s got the experience,” he said. “During the interview process, she really stood out.”
Before being named interim director, Briese was the head of technical services for the library district, which includes Salem, Paddock Lake, Twin Lakes, Randall and Silver Lake.
