Science denialism: Meet the GOP troglodytes on the Wisconsin Supreme Court who favor conversion therapy for the gays

Mitchell Schmidt reports science denialism of the three conservative justices:

The court's 4-3 ruling deals a blow to legislative Republicans in their ongoing battle with Democratic Gov. Tony Evers over who has final say in various functions of state government.

The conversion therapy ban went back into effect in April 2024 after the Legislature adjourned without taking action to permanently suspend the rule. With the court's ruling, the rules committee can no longer temporarily block the rule. 

The Human Rights Campaign, an LGBTQ advocacy group, calls conversion therapy, also known as "reparative therapy," "dangerous and discredited" and it has been rejected by mainstream medical and mental health organizations for decades. Both the American Psychological Association and American Medical Association have also denounced the practice.
