Surprising, Mitchell Schmidt refrains from using the 'p' word:
Democrats on the committee pushed Republicans to save 19 policies related to child care access, health care and Medicaid expansion and tax credits and programs for veterans. Sen. LaTonya Johnson, D-Milwaukee, stressed her concerns that up to 87,000 child care spots could be at risk as Child Care Counts expires in June.
“I recognize that it’s sort of the whole brand of the Republican Party right now is to make everyone’s life a little bit more difficult,” Rep. Tip McGuire, D-Kenosha, said. “We don’t need to make life harder for veterans. We don’t need to make life less affordable for veterans.”
