Ohio geographic illiteracy at the New York Times: Trumbull County is 261 miles northeast of Middletown

Not surprising in a county whose residents have much lower levels of education compared to the national average.

3rd-party candidates received 25.3% of vote in 1992, 
15.1% of vote in 1996, 4.8% in 2016;
(Alabama segregationist George Wallace received 
11.3% of the vote in 1968; seed of MAGA)


The lack of diversity, along with the decline of the American steel industry, made Trumbull County a ripe target for MAGA.

And its population has decreased 17% since its 1980 peak.
