In the pending matchup between former President Donald Trump, who is coming off a successful convention, and whoever the Democrats put up if not President Joe Biden, the Republican Party needs to do a few simple things, Maly said: spend money and bring in top-level Republicans to inspire conservatives.
“Trump needs to have surrogates in Dane County, and that needs to happen more than once,” Maly said. “And I’m not talking about some congressman that nobody has ever heard of. I’m talking about (Republican vice presidential nominee) JD Vance needs to make it out to Dane. I would love to see President Trump make it out to Dane, because that would make such a powerful statement.”

Moreover, in 2020, Joe Biden received 260,121 votes in Dane County -- 42,424 more than Hillary Clinton in 2016.  An increase of 16.3%

In 2020, Donald Trump received 78,794 votes in Dane County -- 7,519 more than he did in 2016.  An increase of 9.5%.

According to Merriam-Webster, the first known use of 'pipe dream', as in an illusory or fantastic plan, hope, or story, occurred in 1890.
