GET ME REWRITE: Wisconsin GOP legislative leaders take their cue from the man in the robe

Republicans nationwide have increasingly targeted DEI positions in recent years. In Wisconsin, legislative Republicans withheld about $800 million in state funds directed to the Universities of Wisconsin until the UW system agreed late last year to repurpose some diversity positions.  

As Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, suggested shortly after the UW system deal was struck, the Joint Legislative Audit Committee on Tuesday voted to order the Legislative Audit Bureau to conduct the audit.
