GET ME REWRITE: The New York Times perfects the technique of bending over backwards for Donald Trump

The online headline is isn't much better, but the print edition is much more mockworthy.

The word 'lie' is used once -- in the lede.  The word 'liar' is studiously avoided.

Since the beginning of his political career, Donald J. Trump has misled, mischaracterized, dissembled, exaggerated and, at times, flatly lied.

At times???  Really???

What's the matter with The New York Times?
