Columbus leads the way in population growth in Ohio

Once upon a time, Columbus trailed Ohio's two historically largest cities by a wide margin.

  2. Cincinnati:  325,902
  3. Columbus:  125,560

  1. Cleveland:  914,080

  3. Columbus:  375,901
With 1970 census, Columbus moved past Cincinnati into 2nd place

  2. Columbus:  539,677
  3. Cincinnati:  452,525
By 1990, Columbus had taken over the top spot.
