Scott struggled to maintain a toehold during the first 3 decades of the 20th century but the proceeded pon a steady march to make a challenge for the top stop.  He didn't succeed in this pursuit, spending only 1 year (1971) in the top 10.  Nothin' shabby, though, about a 47-year run in the top 100.  (1949-95)
