New York Times

Counties at highest risk are located in rural areas of the state.   Jackson County, the deep red square sitting on the Iowa border, has lost 40% of its population since its 1940 peaks, is 92% white with 22% 65 and older.  Trump won the county by 39 percentage points in 2020.
