Which New York Times headline do you prefer?

Print?

Digital?

Retiring Guy prefers the Joni Mitchell-infused print headline, although the Times staff should have reviewed the lyrics in order to get the connection right in the sub:  stardust/golden, bombers/butterflies.

See for yourself.
Appears on the 1970 album "Ladies of the Canyon".  Not released as a single.  Clocking in at 5:27, Joni's version is more dirge-like than celebratory.

The CSN&Y version debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending March 28, 1970, and spent 11 weeks on the chart, peaking at #11.  More hard-edged and uptempo with a running time of 3:57.

Silky-smooth in texture with insinuating pedal steel guitar work, Matthews Southern Comfort's mid-tempo version, clocking in at 4:26, debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending March 6, 1971.  It spent 16 weeks on the chart, peaking at #23.  The song reach #1 in the UK.  Retiring Guy likes this version best.  The album on which it is included is also quite good.
