The Isley Brothers' 9th single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 is their first to reach the top 10. It'll be another 4 years before they reach this level again.
In other chart action, lightning did not strike twice for the Supremes and Temptations, as their follow-up to "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" stumbled.
The Association spent 4 weeks on the Hot 100 with "Goodbye Columbus", only to have the single reappear for 3 weeks in the late summer when the movie of the same name was released.
After four top 10 singles in a row, Gary Puckett & the Union Gap had to settle for the top 15 with "Don't Give In to Him".
The MC5, touring extensively at this time (including a stop at Norton Union, at center of aerial view, on the UB campus), didn't make much of a dent with their only appearance on the Hot 100.
