Robin Vos and the Wisconsin extraordinary session: Not for the faint of heart

Here are the first 4 paragraphs from the article.

What's to quibble with here?

1.  Yes, it's true that "Wisconsin Republicans pushed through a sweeping set of bills Wednesday to limit the power of the state's newly elected Democrats".

2.  Yes, it's true that Robin Vos "has played a key rolein driving the state sharply to the right".

3.  Yes, it's true that Robin Vos is Assembly Speaker and has been decidedly defiant since Walker lost.  (And, by the way, 'noble' is not a synonym of 'defiant'.  Check out the antonyms of defiant while you're at it.)

4.  Yes, it's true that Robin Vos made the "stand like bedrock" quote.

5.  Yes, it's true that Robin Vos has led the charge for "reining in the authority of the incoming Democratic governor."  For longer than you probably realize.

Last spring, after Wisconsin Democrats seized a state legislative seat long held by Republicans and sent a liberal justice to the State Supreme Court, Republicans began to worry. Gov. Scott Walker, preparing to seek a third term, warned his fellow Republicans on Twitter of the “risk of a blue wave” and publicly urged them not to be complacent with fall elections ahead. During the same period, an aggressive and methodical alternate strategy was emerging behind the scenes. Over the summer, Robin Vos, the speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly, sought a detailed analysis from the state’s Legislative Fiscal Bureau of the powers of the governor compared with those of the State Legislature.
