Dear Jim, The GOP war on local control affects EVERYONE.  Village Administrator Jim Healy said the court ruling has broken new, disturbing ground for local governments faced with projects like what he calls "the ironically named" Scenic Pit. The law "was never meant to allow a new business to run in perpetuity," he said. "It's mostly to help state highway projects, for a set duration, not for someone who would open for 2.5 million yards of fill for over a decade."
