Meet the newest member of the Employee Relations Hall of Shame


With an unconscionably ugly history of employee relations as a government official in Arizona, Black earns a unanimous nod from the selection panel

And it’s because of Harris’ reporting that we learned of accusations about Parks Director Sue Black, including claims that she berated and harassed employees, got drunk at public functions and made racial slurs while representing the state at a conference.

In late 2015, less than a year into her job, the state Department of Administration launched an investigation into Black and found numerous employee complaints that she had abused her authority over staff. That investigation was not disclosed until Wednesday, when it was revealed in documents released to The Arizona Republic through a public-records request.
