Democratic districts in U.S. House targeted by GOP: Minnesota 1st


Rep. Tim Walz has represented the 1st district since 2007.  His margin of victory over his Republican challengers has narrowed from 15.2 percentage points in 2012 to 0.7 in 2016.

Trump won Rep. Tim Walz’s district by 15 points in an election where Clinton performed 11.2 points worse than Obama in 2012. Obama, who won the South Minnesota district with 51 percent of the vote in 2008, underperformed himself four years later, as Republicans upped their share of the vote.
