Tavern League Executive Director compares apples to oranges

Or is it hops to grapes?

Quoted in Wisconsin wineries say state law limiting hours is hampering business.  (Capital Times, 5!2017)
Extending opening hours for wineries would give those businesses an advantage at the expense of the state's taverns, said Pete Madland, executive director of the Tavern League of Wisconsin.

According to state law that dates back to the 1930s, wineries are not allowed to sell their wine after 9 p.m.

If I were so inclined, I could drink beer at the Middleton Sport Bowl, or the Mid Town Pub or Hody's until 2 a.m.

Oh, the disadvantages of being a beer lover!
