For the first time, more Americans say 2010 health care law has had a positive than negative impact on U.S.  (Pew Research, 12/11/2017)

Overall support for the health care law also has grown since last year. Currently, 56% of the public approves of the law while 38% disapproves, according to a new national survey by Pew Research Center, conducted Nov. 29-Dec. 4. The law drew majority approval for the first time in February, when 54% expressed support for it.

A first for Gallup but not a first for pollsters in general*.  For the first time, the majority of Americans approve of Obamacare. The record high approval ratings, at 55 percent, come a week after the Republican Party’s failed attempt to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, former President Barack Obama’s signature health care law. A Gallup poll conducted over the weekend found that the majority of Americans approve of the law for the first time since the polling firm began asking about it in 2012.  

*The following polls have also found majority support:

• Pew Research, February 7-12, 2017 . 54% for, 43% against.
• Public Policy Polling,  March 27-28, 2017.  52% for, 37% against.

The Gallup poll is not yet included in the RCP mix.
