Isaac Hayes' version of "Never Can Say Goodbye" has a lot more soul than the Jackson 5's, although theirs won the popularity contest, spending 2 weeks at #2 in May 1971. Isaac's version debuted at #91 for the week ending May 15, 1971. It peaked at #22 and spent 9 weeks on the chart.
