Iowa ranks in the top 10 of least diverse states.  However, Iowans are more pessimistic about a president so many of them supported than other Americans are, national polling suggests. In a CNN/ORC telephone poll of 1,501 Americans taken last week for example, 55 percent approved of his performance.
