Written by Jimmy Campbell, Reg Connelly, and Harry M. Woods, "Try a Little Tenderness" was first recorded on December 8, 1932, by the Ray Noble Orchestra.

Frank Sinatra's version appeared on a 4-disc set of 78 rpm records, The Voice of Frank Sinatra, released on March 4, 1946.

Otis Redding's version made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 on December 3, 1966.  It spent 10 weeks on the chart, peaking at #25.

In an inspired bit of programing, guest DJ Carly Simon played these 2 versions of this classic song back-to-back.
