I'm pretty sure I bought this 1952 road atlas at Johnson's Secondhand Book Store in Springfield Mass.

I used to collect free gas station maps when I was a kid, riding my bike around town and boldly helping myself to a few at a time.

This purchase would have been made in the mid-1970s.

An 'aerial' view of Wisconsin.

A close-up view of the Madison-Milwaukee corridor in the pre-Interstate era.

My most frequent lunch hour destination while working at the G. & C. Merriam Company.
