And then there's this great lede!
When Ald. Joe Davis announced last year that he was running for Milwaukee mayor, he said he wanted to take on the city's rampant crime.
Who knew that Davis would have to start with his own campaign?

Another alderman enters race for Milwaukee mayor. (WISN, 10/23/2014)

Looking to unseat incumbent mayor Tom Barrett.
Milwaukee now has two veteran aldermen, Davis [13,384 likes on Facebook] and Bob Donovan [5,363 likes on Facebook] competing for the mayor's job.
They seem as different as night and day. Donovan announced his intention to run over the summer at Serb Hall in his district on Milwaukee's south side. Davis announced in his district on the north side.
One of Donovan's first stops was a conservative radio program on WTMJ.  Davis's first stop was an African-American issue-oriented program on WNOV.
Both candidates said they voters shouldn't read anything divisive into that.

The election takes place on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.
